Start ShoppingAttending the Vintage Watch Fair in Lisbon has become a fixture in NorteSpring’s calendar… and in our hearts. Last Saturday, 29 November, marked the third edition we attended and, once again, we returned home inspired, with fresh ideas and the feeling that this event really does have something special about it.
It is one of those unique moments in the country where rare watches, iconic watches and incredible stories come together in the same space. And where we can, all together, celebrate what truly unites us: a passion for watchmaking.
An event that brings generations together
One of the most wonderful things about this event is seeing how it brings together several generations of collectors and enthusiasts. Some are looking for their first mechanical watch, others are hunting for that rare model they’ve had their eye on for months, and others simply want to chat about calibres, dials and family stories. And you can feel it at every stall and in every conversation.
Grandfathers with their grandchildren, parents and children, groups of friends, all sharing that sparkle in their eyes that only those who love watches can understand.
The combinations we created with visitors’ watches
As always, we brought a selection of our universal straps and took the opportunity to help several visitors refresh the look of their watches. From NATO straps to leather straps and genuine leather straps, through to sporty options such as FKM rubber straps and Milanese straps, there was scope to try a bit of everything.
Dozens of combinations were created throughout the day, and it’s always a pleasure to see people’s reactions when they realise the impact a new strap can have on a vintage watch.
If you have a vintage watch gathering dust in a drawer, why not give it a new lease of life? A simple strap change can completely transform its style.
Of course, we couldn’t resist taking photos of some of the combinations; these moments really are worth sharing.
Watches for all budgets (and all tastes)
At the Vintage Watch Fair, you’ll find a bit of everything: from affordable pieces under €100, from Timex to Rolex, to iconic models that make any collector stop for a few seconds. And that diversity is exactly what makes the event so rich. Rare watches, classic models, special editions – all there, just a few centimetres away. For anyone who loves watches, it’s impossible not to feel at home.
Yes, it’s true: NorteSpring also left with a few new treasures. We bought watches for our personal collection, but also a few pieces that will be useful for creating content on social media and for showcasing different styles of straps, from traditional leather to sporty options such as rubber straps.
Bringing back new watches always gives us fresh creative possibilities, and this year we returned with plenty of ideas in our luggage.
